After a lifetime of appreciating Art, and many years of creating, beautiful work.  I decided to take my passion a step further and make it my career.  And I am loving every minute of it.

 

Most of my work is made out of clay, functional pieces sometimes with a twist of mixed media, small sculpture, and wall hangings.  But I also love photography, watercolor, and calligraphy.
 

Art is such an expressive industry. You really receive a large part of its creator with each piece.  With my work you will see my Christian Faith, Loving Family Values, and for the simpler pieces no deep meaning just beautiful lines, crisp contrasts, feminine beauty, and hopefull an uplifting and happy feeling.    


                         
My work is a deep passion, I enjoy creating every piece.  I get my inspiration from many places, the Bible, my children, news stories, church sermons,  friends, and family.   I am an observer, I love to watch people and different situations.  I reflect on them and a lot of times those moments come alive in my artwork, forever frozen in time. 
I have a small studio in the front room of our house.  I try to get out there every afternoon.  I lay my youngest down to sleep and my 4 year old and I go out to creat new things.
 
While we are out there I crank up the music and we dance and sing.  But on quieter days, or days when I haven't had a real conversation with a grown up in a while (any other stay at home mom will know what I'm talking about)  we listen to some talk radio, usually Bob Duco.
 
I glaze my work  out in our garage, where I airbrush every piece, wareing my firemans face mask.   Out in the garage I crank up the music to 89x  or the Country station.
 
I enjoy my work very much, but I also take a strong intrest in promoting the Arts in my area.  I am a member of the Monroe Art League, and the Monroe City-County Arts Council.  I also help out with the local street fair and am a supporter of the Mural Project in our area.
 
I also have a strong Christian Faith and a true devotion to my family.  I have included below a daily bible verse from one of the many websites I use for reasurch for the calligraphy on my artwork.
